Taymac Boilers
Emission Control

Taymac are New Zealands' leading manufacturer of dust and pollution control equipment, with over 500 units installed around New Zealand, Australia, the Pacific & Asia. Taymacs' extensive knowledge enables them to guarantee performance of the systems supplied. This experience is a result of many years experience working with local industry, factory and field testing and a strong affiliation with associate companies both in New Zealand and abroad. Clients can be assured of the quality and performance of our dust and pollution control equipment in every instance.

Dust Control Systems

The four forms of dust control offered by Taymac are cyclonic, filtration, wet scrubber and electrostatic precipitation.

Cyclones

The simplest form of dust control is the cyclone, which relies on centrifuging particulates from a gas stream and collecting the particulates in a hopper. Correct sizing and design is required to achieve specified results. Many factors influence design, including gas flow, gas temperature, particle size & density. The same cyclone may perform significantly different in two seemingly similar applications. Hence the most important feature of a cyclone is who it is purchased from. Only a company with Taymacs' background and experience can assure the client of a successful project.

A cyclone can be customised to ensure it is ideally suited to the application. Cyclones can be ganged to provide increased capacity. Options include ducting, support stands, insulation and cladding for hot gas streams, alternative materials for corrosive or high wear applications, flanged outlets for duct discharge, or chinamans' hat for direct discharge. Hoppers can be emptied manually with slide dampers into bins, bags, augers or conveyors. Motorised dust valves can be fitted for automation.

Pulsejet Bag Filters

Taymac bag filters offer the highest standards of emissions control along with self cleaning & a variety of filter mediums to suit most applications. Taymac bag filters suit applications from ambient to 250°C, limited by the service temperatures of the filter medium. All Taymac bag filters incorporate reverse pulse jet bag cleaning, large roof access panels for inspection and bag replacement and an integral collection hopper. Options include ducting, support stands, insulation and cladding for hot gas streams, alternative materials for corrosive or high wear applications. Hoppers can be emptied manually with slide dampers into bins, bags, augers or conveyors. Motorised dust valves can be fitted for automation.

Ceramic Filters

Taymac ceramic filters offer the highest standards of emissions control along with self cleaning & a durable high temperature ceramic filter medium. Taymac ceramic filters suit applications from ambient to 700°C. All Taymac ceramic filters incorporate reverse pulse jet filter cleaning, roof access panels for inspection and element replacement and an integral collection hopper. Options include ducting, support stands, insulation and cladding for hot gas streams, alternative materials for corrosive or high wear applications. Hoppers can be emptied manually with slide dampers into bins, bags, augers or conveyors. Motorised dust valves can be fitted for automation.

Wet Scrubbers

Wet scrubbers offer a performance between that of multiclones and filters, but requiring no replaceable parts, simply periodic cleaning and sludge disposal.

Wet scrubbers can be supplied in a variety of materials to suit abrasive or corrosive environments.

Electrostatic Precipitators

Taymac supply and install Fowlerex Technologies' range of electrostatic precipitators. These precipitators are suitable for service temperatures up to 400°C and can clean up to 99% of particulates from a gas stream. Unlike other types of dust collectors, electrostatic precipitators offer negligible resistance to gas streams and hence don't require additional fan capacity or power.

Rotary Dust Valves

Many dust and emission control appliances result in the collection of particulates in a hopper which is emptied periodically. Discharge from a hopper is best carried out via a rotary dust valve, which seals the hopper against differential pressure at the same time a allowing the removal of the contents from the hopper. With a dust valve and sensors fitted to the hopper, discharge can be automated for 24/7 operation. The dust valve is of durable cast iron construction with replaceable rotors and seals.
