The University of Canterbury engaged Vortex Engineering Group, with Taylors as the project manufacturers, to support a major upgrade of its existing boiler system. The system required an upgraded Induced Draft (ID) fan to meet current environmental regulations and performance targets. The University required a retrofit solution that would not only extend the life of the existing boiler but also improve its environmental impact.
Our Solution: Fan FB1000
Manufactured by Taylors, the FB1000 ID fan was custom-built to meet performance criteria and framework. The fan was designed for continuous operation in extreme conditions, offering:
- Improved airflow efficiency
- Reduced energy consumption
- Enhanced emissions control
- Extended equipment lifespan
Taylors’ manufacturing expertise ensured a high-quality build, with each component tested to meet the reliability standards expected in an institutional energy system. The final solution delivered improved performance and compliance with modern environmental benchmarks.
This project showcased the collaborative strength of our group companies Vortex Engineering and Taylors, delivering a high-value, durable and efficient solution for the University of Canterbury.
