Background
Across New Zealand, educational facilities are transitioning away from coal-fired heating to meet new environmental standards. For the Kaiapoi High School upgrade, Taylors Manufacturing was engaged by a project partner to deliver a sustainable, low-emission heating solution.
Our Role
The new boiler systems now provide Kaipoi High School with a safer, more reliable, and more efficient heating solution. The upgrade supports improved energy performance and long-term operational stability for the school. We are also very familiar with NZ safety and environmental standards, manufacturing custom solutions to meet the requirements of local clients.
Taylors Manufacturing was commissioned to fabricate two new boiler units designed to meet the school’s long-term heating requirements. Our role focused on the precision engineering and workshop fabrication of these units to ensure they met strict safety and performance standards before being integrated into the school’s upgraded system.
Technical Specifications & Fabrication
- Custom Fabrication: The boilers were manufactured to specific dimensions to fit the existing plant room footprint while optimizing heat output.
- Material & Welding Quality: High-grade steel and specialized welding techniques were employed to ensure durability under continuous thermal cycling.
- Compliance: The units underwent rigorous pressure testing and quality inspections in our Christchurch workshop to comply with New Zealand’s pressure equipment and safety standards.
- Site Integration: Following fabrication, our team supported the delivery and on-site positioning, ensuring the units were ready for connection to the school’s wider heating network.
The Project is currently in the final phase of installation and commissioning.
