Taylors Manufacturing was engaged to fabricate key components for a wood pellet pneumatic conveying system designed and supplied by Vortex Engineering for the University of Canterbury.
The system was developed to transfer wood pellets from a bulk storage silo to three cyclone receivers installed above surge bins and bunkers serving the university’s hot water boilers. Working alongside Vortex Engineering, Taylors was responsible for fabricating key components in the system. Each component was fabricated to specification to ensure durability, and seamless integration with the wider system design.
The completed system enables reliable pneumatic transfer of wood pellets from storage through to the boiler feed points, supporting continuous hot water boiler operation. With appropriate dust control, material recovery, and safety considerations incorporated into the fabricated equipment, the system provides stable fuel delivery while minimising material loss.
Through close collaboration and our specialist knowledge of air pollution control system fabrication, Taylors contributed to a robust solution that supports efficient and dependable boiler operations for the University of Canterbury.
