Overview

Taylors Manufacturing fabricated key equipment for an extraction and gas cleaning system serving an activated carbon regeneration kiln at the Wonawinta Mining Project in New South Wales.

The system was designed to treat kiln exhaust from a process handling up to 600 kg/h of carbon, with mercury control a key requirement.

Our Role

Working from the project engineering requirements, Taylors manufactured the major equipment for the gas treatment system, including:

  • Venturi scrubber – V280-180-800
  • Activated carbon filter – 2,000 mm diameter
  • Two FX630 Arr4 11 kW fans
  • 300 mm diameter × 6 m stack
  • Associated system components

The fabricated equipment formed part of a two-stage gas treatment system, with the Venturi scrubber providing the first stage of gas treatment, followed by activated carbon filtration for additional contaminant and mercury removal.

The project involved the fabrication and assembly of several large-scale components, from the main scrubber and carbon filter vessels through to the associated fans and system components. The completed equipment was prepared for transport to site as part of the wider project.

Project Outcome

Fabrication was completed and the equipment was dispatched to site in September 2026.
