Overview
Taylors Manufacturing is engaged to fabricate major ventilation system components for Pioneer Energy’s Christchurch Organics Processing Facility (OPF). Working alongside Vortex Engineering Group, Taylors is manufacturing heavy-gauge industrial ductwork and associated components to support the facility’s air quality and ventilation requirements.
The scope includes approximately 47 metres of galvanised steel ductwork, two stainless steel FB1700 fans, and one mild steel FB710 fan.
Manufacturing Challenges
- The large diameter of the ductwork required careful rolling and forming to maintain roundness, alignment and dimensional accuracy. As the ductwork was manufactured in transportable sections, accurate dimensions and connection points were critical to ensure correct assembly on site.
- Quality checks were carried out throughout fabrication, followed by a full trial assembly in the Taylors workshop. This allowed the team to verify interfaces, fit-up and overall assembly tolerances before dispatch, reducing installation risks on site
the completed sections have undergone a successful trial assembly in our workshop to confirm dimensional accuracy and interface alignment.
